Stream Invertebrates in Greenbrook Sanctuary

MARCH 28, 2010

Join Martin “Butch” Rosenfeld as he identifies and interprets the hidden lives of invertebrates living in our streams. Their interesting life cycles largely go unnoticed but are now used to monitor the water quality in our reservoirs. Butch has become an expert on their identification, working for NYC Department of Environmental Protection since 1995. For non-members this is an opportunity to experience hiking the trails of Greenbrook Sanctuary. Please register and dress sensibly for wet conditions 201-768-1360.

You might not realize it, but there are over a dozen places and organizations in Bergen County alone                   that provide quality nature programs. Recently, they created the Nature Program Cooperative – a pooling             of  knowledge and resources designed to offer the people of our region greater opportunities to explore             and enjoy the County’s natural side. From hikes to boat trips, from live animal presentations to slideshows,        from hands-on activities to paddling adventures and more, it is all available here in Bergen County.
